Birmingham City University Students and Staff

As a member of staff or a student at Birmingham City University, you become a member of the library automatically when your University ID card is printed.  You will receive a library PIN to your University email account.  Please note that there is a short delay after your card is printed before becoming active on the system.  Staff will need to complete a registration card on their first visit.

Alumni

Please click here if you are an alumni student for details of the borrowing scheme available to you.

Non-BCU Students and Staff

Students and staff at other Universities are welcome to join us via the SCONUL Access scheme.  Please contact your home library for details.

Other membership

If you are not eligible for SCONUL Access or alumni membership then you may visit our libraries 5 times in a year for free, for reference use only.

You'll need to register on the day of your first visit providing:

  • proof of name and current address (dated within three months of application)
  • a passport-sized photograph
