LibKey is a suite of tools which support enhanced linking:

  • Taking you through to the definitive version of an article
  • Highlighting problems such as retractions or expressions of concern
  • Bringing you back home (to BCU Library Search) to explore options when content is unavailable

BrowZine is a platform for browsing and saving your favourite journals. Keep up to date with research in your chosen topics!

BCU Library Search

You'll find LibKey and BrowZine automatically embedded in BCU Library Search when LibKey finds a link for you. On the search results page, you'll see options to download/view content, and/or view the other content within the same journal.

Download PDF and View Issue Contents

  • The "download PDF" button will take you to a PDF of the article, via the LibKey platform. This simplifies the process of signing in and navigating different publisher's websites.
  • Similarly, the "view article" button will take you to the website where the article is hosted, via the LibKey platform. This option is usually preferred for screen reader users.
  • The "view issue contents" button opens the journal on the BrowZine platform, where you can browse the rest of the contents of the journal.

Browsing BCU Library Journals

You can directly search/browse our entire catalogue of online journals via the BrowZine platform - you'll also find the "view issue contents" option embedded on many of the results within BCU Library Search.

If you prefer browsing via your mobile or tablet, download the app.

Please note: As this is a trial, you may lose any saved items once the trial ends at the end of the Summer Term.

Find links anywhere on the web with the LibKey Nomad Browser Extension

We recommend trying the LibKey Nomad browser extension to improve discovery via the open web.

Sign into your BCU account via the extension to see available PDF links to articles wherever you are online, for example Wikipedia references:

Using LibKey within selected databases

We've also embedded LibKey within some of our databases, as well as Google Scholar. Where "Check BCU Library Search" is displayed on these databases, LibKey will help locate the article for you, or direct you to alternative options. You can browse the A-Z of Databases as well as search for them within BCU Library Search.
