If Athens gives unavailable or Error 505/404 across more than one service, the first thing is to raise a IT helpdesk call – if they discover a problem IT will reboot the Athens application at https://athenssso.bcu.ac.uk..

  If this doesn’t solve it then if I’m not around I suggest the following :

  1. http://status.openathens.net/ - gives details of Athens availability UK-wide ;  ‘OpenAthens MD Single Sign-On service’ particularly relates to our current implementation.

       2.     OpenAthens (technical) service desk

Provides support for OpenAthens customers who have any questions about the operation and use of the service and interfaces. They also provide technical support for any OpenAthens products and services you’re using.

ii) Web: Visit the support website or via the 'Log a query' button in the Administrator Area.
