Subscriptions to the following databases from Elsevier are available:

  • ClinicalKey Student: Midwifery
  • ScienceDirect
  • Scopus

For access, click on links from the A-Z of Databases or Subject Guides and sign in with your BCU email address and password if prompted.

When accessing one of the databases for the first time you will be prompted to register for an account with Elsevier. This may involve agreeing to their terms and conditions, and submitting your first name, last name, and BCU email address.

Depending on the database, registering for an account will allow you to take advantage of personalisation features, including:

  • Saving searches
  • Bookmarking content
  • Creating search alerts
  • Creating journal alerts

Registering for an account with Elsevier is a one-time event and only needs to be completed for one of the databases. For example, an account registered with ClinicalKey Student: Midwifery is transferrable and will automatically apply to ScienceDirect or Scopus.
